Boyle Statement on September 2026 CPI Inflation Data

October 14, 2026

WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that the annualized Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation rate for September 2026 was 3.7 percent:

“President Trump promised to end inflation and lower costs ‘on day one.’ More than 600 days into his second term, he has done the exact opposite, driving up costs for American families with his disastrous war in Iran and reckless tariff taxes.

Trump has no one to blame but himself for his broken promises and economic failures, and the American people know it.”
