Boyle Applauds FOMC Decision to Pause Interest Rate Hikes
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) announced a pause in interest rate increases for the month of September:
“With the data showing that core inflation continues to moderate, pausing interest rate hikes was the right decision,” said Ranking Member Brendan F. Boyle. “Price growth is down sharply from its peak and this decision will help protect American jobs from the threat of a costly overcorrection.”
“Lowering costs for families — including prices at the pump — remains a top priority for Democrats in Congress. Unfortunately, while we would like to focus on these key cost-of-living issues, House Republicans continue to waste critical time with their push towards a MAGA government shutdown that will only harm American families.”
