Boyle Statement on April 2025 Jobs Report

May 2, 2025

WASHINGTON, DCCongressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that nonfarm payroll employment increased by 177,000 jobs in April 2025:

“Donald Trump inherited a growing economy — and in just 100 days, he’s thrown it into reverse. Prices remain high, the economy is shrinking, and families are watching their savings vanish.

This isn’t bad luck. It’s the direct result of one man’s reckless decisions — and if he doesn’t change course, it will cost Americans their jobs. Instead of addressing the crisis he’s created, Trump and Republicans in Congress are pushing the biggest Medicaid cuts in history to fund more handouts for billionaires.”
