Boyle Statement on August 2026 PCE Inflation Data

WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Bureau of Economic Analysis reported an annual personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index of 3.4 percent for August 2026:

“American families are struggling, and month after month President Trump proves he couldn’t care less. Today’s report confirms that costs are still too high under President Trump.

While Trump builds himself a gilded ballroom, his Iran war, his tariff taxes, and his health care cuts have made life in America even more expensive for working families. They deserve better than Donald Trump and the Republicans in Washington who have enabled this cost-of-living crisis.”
