Boyle Statement on August PCE Inflation Data
September 26, 2025
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) reported an annual Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) price index of 2.7 percent for August:
“Working families are already struggling under rising prices in Donald Trump’s economy — and it’s only getting worse. His reckless policies have weakened the economy and now Republicans are increasing health care costs for millions of Americans.
Instead of working with Democrats to lower costs and protect health care, Trump and Republicans only care about sending big tax breaks for billionaires.”
