Boyle Statement on Extreme GOP Budget

Mar 6, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after Budget Committee Republicans released the text of their FY2025 Budget Resolution:

“If you're looking for a plan that puts the needs of middle class families ahead of corporate profits, then you'll have to keep waiting until President Biden's State of the Union tomorrow night,” said Ranking Member Boyle. “However, if you've been waiting for a plan to sell out American families to line the pockets of the ultra-rich, then look no further.”

“With trillions of dollars in devastating cuts that will force families to spend more on everything from groceries to health care, this budget is the last thing Americans need. From long-overdue fiscal year 2024 funding bills to urgent national security priorities like aid to Ukraine, House Republicans have no shortage of unfinished work they should be focused on right now — but they've once again made it clear that their top priority is finding new ways to attack working and middle class families.”
