Boyle Statement on February 2026 CPI Inflation Data
March 11, 2026
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that the annualized Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation rate for February 2026 was 2.4 percent:
“Donald Trump promised to bring prices down on ‘day one.’ He lied, and now working families across the country are paying the price. Costs continue to rise, the job market is weakening, and now his reckless war in Iran is driving gas prices even higher.
At a time when Americans are already struggling with the cost of living, the last thing they can afford is more of Donald Trump’s economic sabotage.”
