Boyle Statement on February 2026 PCE Inflation Data
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) reported an annual personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index of 2.8 percent for February 2026:
“Under President Trump and Republicans in Congress, hardworking families are paying more while billionaires pay less. The cost of essentials like food and electricity has risen on Trump’s watch, and millions of Americans are losing their health care because of Republican cuts.
Even worse, today’s report doesn’t include the increased prices Americans are now paying at the pump due to Trump’s disastrous war in Iran. Americans deserve leaders who are focused on making their lives easier, not on more tax breaks for billionaires and more wars overseas.”
