Boyle Statement on February Jobs Report

Mar 10, 2023

WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that nonfarm payroll employment increased by 311,000 in February:

“With 311,000 jobs added in February, today's jobs report is yet another proof point that our economy remains strong and Americans continue to benefit from record job gains under President Biden.

“The strength and resilience of our economy is no accident — President Biden and Congressional Democrats laid the foundation for this unprecedented recovery with some of the most consequential economic legislation in a generation. From the American Rescue Plan to the Inflation Reduction Act, our policies have saved lives and helped our nation make the transition from a rapid economic recovery to steady and stable growth.

“It's time for Republicans to stop rooting for a recession, end their dangerous threat of default, and instead recognize that America is better off when we put working families first instead of catering to billionaires and big CEOs.”
