Boyle Statement on January 2026 Fed Interest Rate Decision
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) announced it would be maintaining the current interest rate target range:
“Hardworking families are still waiting for President Trump to bring down the cost of living. Instead, he and Republicans in Congress have spent the past year driving costs higher — with deep cuts to health care and new tariffs that amount to a nationwide sales tax.
Today, the President may complain about the Federal Reserve’s decision, but the responsibility for rising costs rests squarely with him. His own policies are squeezing family budgets.
If President Trump truly cared about working people, he would stop imposing costly tariff taxes on Americans. He would also stop attacking the Fed to deflect from his own failures.”
