Boyle Statement on January 2026 Jobs Report

February 11, 2026

WASHINGTON, DCToday, Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that nonfarm payroll employment increased by 130,000 jobs in January:

“Today’s report doesn’t change the fact that costs are out of control, the labor market is softening, and Trump’s tariffs amount to a tax hike on American families. As if that weren’t bad enough, millions of Americans are going to lose their health care so Republicans can give new tax breaks to their billionaire donors.

Will Congressional Republicans continue to rubber-stamp Trump’s disastrous economic agenda, or will they finally stand up for the American people?”
