Boyle Statement on January 2026 PCE Inflation Data
March 13, 2026
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) reported an annual personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index of 2.8 percent for January 2026:
“Families across the United States are struggling to make ends meet in Donald Trump’s economy. If high costs weren’t already bad enough, Donald Trump’s unnecessary war in Iran has sent gas prices through the roof.
With inflation still too high and a shrinking job market, families can’t afford Donald Trump sending prices even higher with his reckless decisions and his giveaways to his billionaire donors.”
