Boyle Statement on July 2025 Jobs Report
August 1, 2025
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that nonfarm payroll employment increased by 73,000 jobs in July. With revisions to May and June data, three-month average job growth has now notably slowed to just 35,000 jobs a month.
“American families deserve an economy that works for them. But under President Trump, job growth is slowing, costs keep rising, and the Big Ugly Law is stripping health care from millions.
While he hands out tax breaks to billionaires and stokes reckless trade wars, middle-class families are left paying the price.”
