Boyle Statement on June Jobs Report

Jul 7, 2023

WASHINGTON, DC Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that nonfarm payroll employment increased by 209,000 jobs in June:

“Month after month, the economic agenda championed by President Biden and House Democrats continues to deliver for American families. With another 209,000 new jobs created in June, Democrats are proving that there is a better alternative to Republicans' trickle-down policies that have failed the middle-class. Following historic investments in American families and the American economy, a record 13.2 million jobs have been created since President Biden took office, inflation has declined for 11 months in a row, and unemployment remains near the lowest level in a half-century.

“In the face of this world-leading economic record, House Republicans seem intent on turning back the clock and wasting trillions on deficit-financed tax cuts for the wealthy and well-connected. While Republicans continue to prioritize the ultra-rich and billion-dollar corporations, House Democrats will continue our work alongside President Biden to build an economy that rewards work, not wealth.”
