Boyle Statement on March 2026 CPI Inflation Data

April 10, 2026

WASHINGTON, DCToday, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that the annualized Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation rate for March 2026 was 3.3 percent:

“Donald Trump’s promise to lower costs on day one was a shameless lie. Nearly 450 days into his disastrous presidency, prices have only climbed higher, and today’s report makes clear that inflation is skyrocketing because of Trump’s failed economic agenda and his reckless war with Iran.

The only people benefiting from this administration are Trump’s billionaire donors. Everyone else is left paying the price for his incompetence, and Republicans in Congress have enabled every bit of it.”
