Boyle Statement on March Jobs Report

Apr 7, 2023

WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that nonfarm payroll employment increased by 236,000 in March:

“With 236,000 jobs added in March and 12.6 million jobs created so far under President Biden, it’s clear our economy remains strong as we transition from a rapid recovery to stable and steady growth.

“It's bad enough that House Republicans want to replace this progress with spending cuts that will trigger a devastating recession and even worse that they’re threatening to manufacture one by defaulting on our nation’s bills. Their reckless economic agenda is the last thing American families need right now. Democrats will keep fighting to protect our economy from their fiscal delusions and extremist schemes.”
