Boyle Statement on May 2025 PCE Inflation Data
June 27, 2025
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) reported the personal consumption expenditures (PCE) data for May 2025. The report showed that the annualized PCE inflation rate rose to 2.3 percent.
“President Trump and House Republicans have no serious plan to lower prices. Instead, their ‘big beautiful bill for billionaires’ will make things worse, stealing food and health care from working families to pay for tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy.
President Trump’s promise to cut costs was never real, just a lie to win votes.”
