Boyle Statement on May CPI Inflation Data

WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported an annualized CPI inflation rate for May of 2.4 percent:

"President Trump isn’t just ignoring the cost-of-living crisis, he’s making it worse. While he scores a $400 million jet from Qatar, middle-class families are paying the price for his reckless trade policy.

While his billionaire donors line up for trillions in tax breaks, Trump is plotting to rip health care away from 16 million Americans.

Trump’s promise to lower costs was never anything more than a lie to win votes."
