Boyle Statement on November CPI Inflation Data

December 11, 2024

WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported an annualized CPI inflation rate for November of 2.7 percent:

"Today’s report highlights the progress we’ve made in addressing high prices, but working families are still feeling the strain of post-pandemic inflation. Democrats are committed to lowering costs and easing this burden, while Republicans and Donald Trump continue to push policies that would only make things worse."

Trump’s tariffs are nothing more than taxes in disguise, forcing Americans to pay more for everyday essentials like groceries and clothing. Companies are already preparing to raise prices in response, leaving hard working families to foot the bill. Republicans aren’t solving inflation—they’re doubling down on policies that will worsen it, all to benefit billionaires and big corporations.

Democrats remain laser-focused on delivering real solutions that put working families first, not the wealthy and well-connected.”
