Boyle Statement on November PCE Inflation Data

Dec 22, 2023

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) reported an annual personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index of 2.6% for November:

“Time and time again, the strength of our economy continues to beat expectations,” said Ranking Member Boyle. “With today's news that inflation is continuing to come down and PCE inflation is nearing the Federal Reserve's 2% target, a soft landing is well within sight. As 2023 comes to an end, unemployment is near historic lows, wages are outpacing inflation, GDP growth remains strong, and consumer sentiment is rising. Democrats will continue fighting to build on this progress and ensure that our economy works for everyone.”
