Boyle Statement on October Inflation Data
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported an annualized inflation rate for October of 3.2 percent:
"Inflation is way down from its peak of 9.1 percent in June 2022," said Ranking Member Boyle. "The threat of runaway inflation has passed, but that doesn't change the fact that families are still being squeezed by the price increases that have already occurred. That's why President Biden and Congressional Democrats took action to lower health insurance bills, cap prescription costs for seniors, and reduce energy prices — and that's why we're still working to get money back in the American people's pockets."
"Unfortunately, House Republicans' inability to govern continues to leave Congress in a state of chaos and confusion. Just days away from a Republican shutdown, it is imperative that we end this current crisis and get back to building on our economic recovery and improving the lives of hardworking American families."
