Boyle Statement on October Jobs Report

Nov 3, 2023

WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that nonfarm payroll employment increased by 150,000 jobs in October:

“Another month, another positive employment report emphasizing that our history-making economic recovery continues,” said Ranking Member Boyle. “We've seen tremendous job growth for 34 months in a row now, with 14 million jobs added under President Biden. Democratic investments like the Inflation Reduction Act, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and the CHIPS Act have helped America's economy become the envy of the world.”

“However, we still have work to do and House Democrats are committed to doing it. We will continue fighting to make our economy work for everyone, not just millionaires and billionaires. While House Republicans are trying to gut the investments that help working families make ends meet, Democrats know that Congress must do more to bring down costs and give families the breathing room they need. We will never stop fighting to build an America where more families can join the middle class, where the ultra-rich pay their fair share, and where everyone can retire with dignity.”
