Boyle Statement on Republican Budget Resolution
WASHINGTON, DC — Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after Republicans released the text of an FY26 budget resolution — the first step in the reconciliation process:
“This Republican bill doubles down on a failed agenda and does nothing to lower costs, protect health care, or make our communities safer,” said Ranking Member Boyle. “Republicans keep telling the American people we cannot afford health care or relief for families struggling with groceries, gas prices, and everyday costs. But they had no problem handing Donald Trump a blank check to give tax breaks for billionaires through their so-called ‘Big Beautiful Bill,’ and now one for an out-of-control, unaccountable ICE. I will keep fighting to make sure our tax dollars are used to lower costs and protect health care for hardworking families.”
It's clear Republicans have no intention of using these funds to reverse the cost-of-living crisis they created and deliver health care for American families. State and district data on the Trump-Republican cost-of-living crisis, including rising costs and health care coverage losses, is available here.
