Boyle Statement on Senate Passage of Republican Reconciliation Bill

June 5, 2026

WASHINGTON, DC — Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after Senate Republicans passed a reconciliation bill that does nothing to lower costs:

“Donald Trump and Republicans’ ‘America Last’ policies have sent the cost of groceries, gas, and health care skyrocketing. Instead of fixing the damage they caused, Senate Republicans passed a bill that doubles down on this failed agenda.

Trump’s economy is failing working Americans, but all he cares about is his ballroom and other vanity projects. This bill does nothing to stop Trump from erasing his $100 million in tax penalties or reviving his slush fund for violent criminals.

I’m proud to lead the fight against this bill in the House, and I will keep fighting for policies that lower costs, protect health care, and make our communities safer.”
