Boyle Statement on September 2025 Jobs Report
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that nonfarm payroll employment increased by 119,000 jobs in September and the unemployment rate rose to 4.4 percent.
“On top of rising prices driven by Trump’s tariff taxes, Americans continue facing a weakening job market fueled by his economic chaos. With key federal jobs data delayed or never collected due to Trump’s shutdown, we won’t have a full picture of how severe the damage truly is.
To make matters worse, Republicans’ Big Ugly Law and their attacks on the Affordable Care Act will take health care from millions and raise costs for millions more. The American people deserve far better. I’ll keep fighting to protect jobs, defend health care, and lower costs for working families.”
