Boyle Statement on September 2026 Jobs Report

October 2, 2026

WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that nonfarm payroll employment increased by 29,000 jobs in September:

“Donald Trump said he’s done a ‘very bad job’ explaining the economy. Families who can't afford groceries or housing don't need it explained to them.

Costs are still too high, and rising mortgage rates are putting homeownership out of reach. Americans need help, but all this president has to offer is more tariff taxes, more forever wars, and more excuses.”
