Boyle Statement on September CPI Inflation Data
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that the annualized Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation rate for September increased to 3.0 percent:
“Donald Trump promised to lower prices, but his reckless tariff taxes are driving them even higher. This is only the beginning. In addition to the rising cost of energy and groceries, Americans are now seeing their health insurance premiums skyrocket as a direct result of Republicans’ Big Ugly Law.
Instead of working in a bipartisan manner to lower costs for families and strengthen our economy, Republicans have shut down the government and continue to enable Donald Trump’s economic sabotage.”
