Boyle Statement on September Inflation Data
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported an annualized inflation rate for September of 3.7 percent:
"Inflation has come down sharply over the last year, and today's CPI data shows core inflation continuing to head in the right direction," said Ranking Member Boyle. "The job market remains strong, and with the help of historic investments passed by Democrats last Congress, our economy continues to beat expectations time and time again."
"Unfortunately, while Democrats remain focused on delivering for the American people, House Republicans' inability to govern continues to leave Congress paralyzed. After nine months of pushing far-right policies and draconian budget cuts, House Republicans have turned on themselves in a chaotic, MAGA civil war which has left the House without a Speaker. While they continue to waste time on political games, Democrats will continue our work to lower costs, build on our economic recovery, and improve the lives of American families."
