CBO Confirms Trump–Republican Health Care Plans Mean Less Coverage, Higher Costs for Millions
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement on new analysis from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO). The report confirms that Republican plans to slash Medicaid and dismantle the Affordable Care Act would rip health coverage away from 15 million Americans and raise costs for millions more families.
“Donald Trump and Republicans are carrying out a ruthless scheme that would cause the largest loss of health coverage in American history just to hand out more tax breaks to billionaires and big corporations.
The nonpartisan CBO has once again confirmed what’s at stake: if Republicans succeed, 15 million Americans will lose their health insurance, and millions more middle-class families will be forced to pay higher premiums.
I will keep fighting to stop these attacks, by protecting the Affordable Care Act and reversing Republican cuts to Medicaid and Medicare, so every American can count on affordable, reliable health care.”
