CBO Report Confirms Success of Boyle’s Data Sharing Act
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) issued its report on data access agreements since Boyle’s Data Sharing Act became law:
“CBO’s new report shows that my bipartisan Data Sharing Act is delivering results. By clearing away needless red tape and giving CBO clearer authority to obtain information, the law has made it easier for federal agencies to provide more accurate, reliable data.
When CBO has better data, Congress gets better estimates, and that means we can make smarter choices for all we represent. This is exactly how government should work. I was proud to lead the fight to turn my bill into law, and I will keep working to see it fully implemented.”
