Ranking Member Boyle Celebrates Two Years of the Inflation Reduction Act

August 16, 2024

WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement celebrating the second anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act, historic budget reconciliation legislation that is lowering costs, creating jobs, and investing in clean energy:

“Two years after the Inflation Reduction Act was signed into law, the contrast between House Democrats and House Republicans couldn’t be clearer,” said Ranking Member Boyle. “Alongside President Biden and Vice President Harris, Democrats took bold action to lower health care costs and create good-paying manufacturing jobs. Thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act, we’ve secured more affordable health care for 19 million Americans, taken on Big Pharma’s unconscionable price gouging, and delivered over 330,000 new clean energy jobs.”

“From Trump’s Project 2025 to the House GOP’s extreme budget plans, MAGA Republicans are salivating at the idea of ripping away affordable health care and making seniors pay more for their prescriptions. They’re plotting to kill the jobs delivered by the Inflation Reduction Act, all while shamelessly trying to take credit for the new jobs that are being created in their backyards. We’re going to fight with everything we have to stop them from dragging us backward — because the last thing middle-class families need right now is the GOP ripping away their jobs and jacking up their health care costs.”
