Yarmuth Responds to Trump’s Tax Speech

Aug 30, 2017

Washington, D.C.— Kentucky Congressman John Yarmuth, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, issued the following response to President Trump’s tax speech this afternoon in Missouri:

“Today, President Trump failed to offer a concrete plan or any new details to reform our nation’s tax code. The truth is that the President and Congressional Republicans aren’t interested in real reform—they’re solely focused on cutting taxes for millionaires and wealthy corporations no matter the consequences for everyone else. These irresponsible tax cuts will drive up the deficit by trillions of dollars, and will inevitably lead to massive cuts to education, health care, Social Security, and other priorities for American families.”
