Boyle Statement on Bipartisan Topline Appropriations Agreement

Jan 7, 2024

WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement on the bipartisan topline appropriations agreement:

“The bipartisan topline appropriations agreement reached today will finally enable Congress to avert a costly shutdown and enact full-year government funding bills. And importantly, today's deal protects American families from harmful budget cuts by reflecting the bipartisan budget agreement reached between President Biden and House Republicans seven months ago.”

“Over the first three years of the Biden Administration, Democrats in Congress have delivered on our promises: We passed legislation that lowers health care and prescription drug costs, invested in our nation's infrastructure, and helped to create more than 14 million jobs in the process. We have important work left unfinished, and though it took House Republicans far too long to finally honor the deal they made last year, we can now finish the appropriations process and get back to the people's business.”
