Boyle Statement on Republicans’ Commitment to Rich Tax Cheats

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle released the following statement after voting against Republicans’ legislation to repeal funding allocated in the Inflation Reduction Act to ensure the wealthiest Americans pay the taxes they owe.

 

“It says a lot about Republicans’ priorities that the very first bill they are choosing to put forward on the Floor would make it easier for the wealthy and well-connected to cheat on their taxes,” said Boyle. “This legislation — which would add $114 billion to the deficit — is a perfect example of Republicans’ hypocrisy on ‘fiscal responsibility’ and how CUTGO will make it easier to bankroll tax giveaways for the rich rather than invest in the people and communities who need it most.”
