Vought Concedes; Boyle Secures OMB Hearing

March 26, 2026

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director Russell Vought agreed to testify before the Committee on April 15th.

“After ducking the Budget Committee for over a year—and becoming the first OMB Director in history to refuse to appear—I am pleased that Russell Vought has finally agreed to testify,” said Ranking Member Boyle. “The American people deserve answers for this administration’s economic failures, which have led to higher costs and a weaker job market.”

A video and transcript of Ranking Member Boyle’s opening remarks at today’s hearing are available here.

In January, Boyle led Committee Democrats in sending a letter to Director Vought demanding answers on the Trump Administration’s handling of the cost-of-living crisis. That letter followed Committee Democrats’ request in December that Director Vought testify before the Committee.
