Yarmuth Elected Ranking Member of House Budget Committee

Washington, DC – House Democrats have unanimously elected Congressman John Yarmuth (KY-03) as Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee for the 115th Congress. He will succeed Congressman Chris Van Hollen, who has served as Ranking Member for six years and will be sworn in as the next U.S. Senator from Maryland in January.
 
“It has been an honor to serve on this Committee under Ranking Member Van Hollen for the past six years, and I thank him for his dedication and leadership. I’m looking forward to continuing the work he started to take on the irresponsible budget policies of House Republican Leadership. I believe budgets are statements of values, and through the work of the Budget Committee we will be able to show the American people the sharp contrasts between our values and those of our Republican colleagues,” said Congressman Yarmuth.
