Yarmuth Statement on CBO’s Preliminary Analysis of Graham-Cassidy

Sep 25, 2017

Washington, D.C. – Kentucky Congressman John Yarmuth, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, issued the following statement on the Congressional Budget Office’s preliminary analysis of the Graham-Cassidy bill:

“The Congressional Budget Office finds that the Senate health care bill would cause millions of people to lose health coverage and would lead to skyrocketing costs for people with pre-existing conditions such as diabetes, asthma, or cancer. Knowing what we now know, there is simply no justification for Senate Republicans to move forward with this monstrous bill. It achieves nothing except to undermine health care for millions of people. This is the height of irresponsible governing.”
