Trump’s Project 2025 Raises Prescription Drug Costs For Seniors
59 years ago, Medicare was created to ensure seniors and Americans with disabilities can get the medical care they need. With the Inflation Reduction Act, House Democrats worked with President Biden and Vice President Harris to cap insulin prices, limit out-of-pocket costs, and negotiate lower drug prices for Americans with Medicare.
Donald Trump’s Project 2025 would take us backward by repealing the Inflation Reduction Act and raising costs on at least 18 million seniors.

Republican Attacks On Medicare and Medicaid
Project 2025 explicitly promises to repeal “health policies enacted under the Obama and Biden Administrations such as the Medicare Shared Savings Program and Inflation Reduction Act.” (p. 465) These life-saving policies are helping millions of Americans afford their health insurance and prescription drugs.
House Republicans have already shown they’re all-in on the extreme Project 2025 agenda. The 2025 Republican Study Committee budget, supported by 80% of House Republicans and 100% of House Republican leadership, would slash Medicaid funding in half while repealing the Inflation Reduction Act.
“House Republicans’ budget plans show they are 100 percent on board with Trump’s Project 2025 agenda, which will give Big Pharma a windfall while putting the tens of millions of Americans who get their health coverage through Medicare, Medicaid, and the ACA, on the chopping block.
Make no mistake: Trump’s Project 2025 agenda will take us backward and leave more Americans sick, uninsured, and burdened with crushing medical debt.”
