Boyle Statement on Trump Using Taxpayer Dollars for His Ballroom

WASHINGTON, DC — Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02), Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement in response to reports that Trump plans to spend hundreds of millions in taxpayer funds on his ballroom:

“Today’s news confirms President Trump is lying to American families about who is footing the bill for his ballroom. Trump and Republicans would rather waste taxpayer dollars on a ballroom instead of helping families struggling to make ends meet.

Congress should be focused on lowering costs for families, not bankrolling and enabling Donald Trump’s vanity projects. It is insulting that Trump keeps wasting Americans’ money on himself while he cuts health care, raises costs, and starts costly wars.”
