Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, gave  the following opening statement at today's hearing on The President's Fiscal Year 2024 Budget with OMB Director Shalanda Young.

Today, the Democratic Staff of the House Budget Committee released five fact sheets contrasting specific plans included in the Biden Budget with House Republicans' extreme agenda. While House Republicans have yet to reveal a formal budget, their legislative agenda, conflicting fiscal fictions, plots to cut spending to FY22 levels — or to even more damaging levels — and their debt ceiling hostage-taking are widely known.

Today, Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan F. Boyle, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, released the following statement after the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) announced a 25 basis point interest rate increase.

“House Republicans’ budgetary fictions have been repeatedly and thoroughly debunked, and it’s abundantly clear that the draconian cuts Republicans are pushing for would be felt across our entire government, with the costs borne by every American family,” said Congressman Brendan Boyle.

Today, the Democratic Staff of the House Budget Committee released two new reports in tandem that expose the damaging consequences of House Republicans’ budgetary fictions and highlight their extreme and dangerous plot to eviscerate vital and popular programs.

On Thursday, March 23, at 10:00 a.m. ET, the House Budget Committee will hold a hearing on President Biden's Budget for Fiscal Year 2024. The Honorable Shalanda Young, Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), will testify.
