After seven years of campaign promises, Congressional Republicans still do not have a plan to replace the Affordable Care Act. Instead, they’ve released two bills that will lead to higher costs, lower-quality care, and lost coverage for millions of Americans.

“The policy goals President Trump laid-out in his address to Congress last night do not match the drastic budget cuts he proposed three days ago. He can promise the moon and the stars, but none of it is real without funding to make it happen."

"Funding for programs that invest in our future, keep families safe, and provide opportunities for all Americans to get ahead are already near historic lows, and cutting them even further is as heartless as it is short-sighted."

“The Office of Management and Budget plays a vital role in addressing the budget opportunities and challenges facing our nation," said Yarmuth. "I encourage Director Mulvaney to partner with Congress on a commonsense, bipartisan path that makes smart investments to grow our economy and provides a better future for families struggling to get ahead."

"This rule will jeopardize health care and add to the chaos Congressional Republicans are already injecting into the health insurance marketplace," Yarmuth said. "It should be abandoned."

"The budget, at the end of the day, is a powerful moral document,” said Rep. Jayapal. “It reflects our priorities and investments as a country. With every budget we pass, we should be standing up for the working class, protecting those who are most vulnerable, and fighting income inequality."

“As Republicans in Congress simultaneously pursue repeal of the law without an immediate replacement, we are concerned the recent Executive Order could sabotage the law’s coverage gains and destabilize insurance markets in the interim,” the Members wrote in a letter sent to HHS today.
