“Every American deserves access to the health care they need. As we move forward, it's time for Congressional Republicans to listen to the American people and work with Democrats to improve and strengthen the Affordable Care Act."

In a letter sent to the Chairmen of their respective committees, the four Democrats called on Republicans to set aside efforts to repeal the ACA and instead to focus on expanding access to health care and lowering the cost of coverage.

“If the day arrives when Republicans come to the table and engage Democrats with responsible tax reform ideas, we will be ready to sit down and work with them. Unfortunately, today was not that day.”
